In the end Cambridge came through a stern test against Welsh Premiership side Quins, outscoring the visitors by five tries to two on a pitch that would be more at home in South Africa.
A strong – not full-strength – Quins endured a nightmare journey to play and held their end up well for an hour, despite conceding inside the first eight minutes where the Blood & Sand dominated.
