THE long trip from Hereford proved worthwhile for Luctonians as they outgunned Tynedale in a pre-season encounter played in temperatures well into the 30s.
The game was played in four 20 minute sessions with frequent breaks to take on water but Luctonians always had the edge.
They led through a Josh Watkinson try after two minutes, and although Tynedale hit back with a converted Josh Leslie score, Watkinson struck again to make it 12-7 at the break.
Tries from Josh Aikman and Conor Geraghty made it 24-7 before Jamie Hiles hit back for Tynedale.
