Midlands Premier
NEWPORT (Salop) took top spot of Midlands Premier after an impressive second half saw them score 43 points in a 48-7 win at Scunthorpe.
The Shropshire side came into the day in second but never got started in Scunthorpe leading just 5-0 at the break.
But an emphatic second half resulted in a clear win with Henry Vaka and Jake Leonard both running over a brace of tries.
George Catledine, Matt Hubbart, Sam Brown and Ricky Bailey also crossed, with Leonard kicking four conversions.
