Newport make up ground at the top

THREE tries in quick succession saw Newport (Salop) draw level at the top of the table with a game in hand after a day of league upsets.
Despite dominating possession, Newport found themselves 5-0 down at the break to Syston during a frustrating half of rugby.
However, once Jack Price opened the floodgates after 59 minutes, he was followed by Rhys Morgan and Hendry Vaka. Jacob Leonard kicking all three conversions. The Syston points came via Harry Wood and Cash Chapman tries converted by Mattie Steward.
