WITH Alnwick’s game against Otley postponed, it was an opportunity for the chasing pack to make some inroads into the league-topper’s lead.
Unfortunately, although Preston Grasshoppers took the honours away at Wirral, they were unable to take the bonus point, leaving the Lancashire club still three points adrift of the Yorkshire side who remain unbeaten.
Following a penalty try, the visitors crossed for two more from Christian Taylor and Sam Scott. Dan Harvey and Rob Pearl were the try scorers for the home side, both converted by Harvey.
