AFTER suffering back-toback defeats Newport (Salop) tasted victory in their Shropshire derby tie against Bridgnorth.
Chris Perry led the fight for Newport scoring four tries, while Oli Buckley and Tom Cowell also scored in a competitive game. The hosts led 19-13 at half-time and powered on to win 38-20 and move up to fifth place – just four points of top spot.
