PONTYPRIDD edged out Newport in a fierce affair at Sardis Road.
This was an extremely tense match with Matt O’Brien and Ben Burnell exchanging three penalties each in the first-half with the scores level at 9-9 at half-time. After an underwhelming first-half the Pontypridd forwards gained the upper hand.
