PONTYPRIDD headed back down the A470 with the derby day bragging rights after coming from behind to complete a Premiership double over rivals Merthyr.
It was the visitors who were first on the scoreboard when the ball went through the hands for full-back Ben Jones to cross. Diggy Bird converted from out wide.
Merthyr replied with prop Chris Phillips going through from 25 metres after spotting a gap. Gareth Davies added the extras.
