Merthyr maintain proud record with strong show

MERTHYR are into a fourth straight Cup semi-final, overcoming Neath with a storming second half performance.
They took the lead on 11 minutes through a Matthew Jarvis penalty from in front of the sticks, but Neath immediately replied with a slightly trickier Jordan Rees kick.
Rees attempted a second on 20 minutes but that sailed wide. Instead it was Jarvis who was accurate to give Merthyr the advantage back.
Neath levelled on 37 minutes, again through the boot of Rees, but Merthyr went into the break 9-6 to the good after Jarvis’ third penalty.
