EBBW Vale hauled themselves off the bottom of the Premiership with victory over Pontypridd.
Ebbw had the first opportunity to score and they didn’t let it pass, Dan Haymond kicking a 30-metre penalty.
They extended their advantage on the quarter hour. Mike Powell opened the Ponty defence to set up winger Aaron Grabham.
It took Ponty until the 53rd minute to reply when, with Ebbw’s Dan Hill in the sin-bin, winger Morgan Richards dived over.
