Ravens’ wings clipped as Newport ease home

BRIDGEND conceded two tries while down to 14 men and had to play much of the second half without No.8 Iestyn Merriman, after he was sent-off for illegal use of an elbow.
It meant that Newport were able to move up to fourth place in the Indigo Group Premiership with a comprehensive home win that included four tries.
The Black & Ambers raced into a ten-point lead in as many minutes thanks to full-back David Richards for the first try and Jon Morris for the second.
