England international flanker Tom Curry has become the latest Sale Sharks player to commit his future to the club by signing a long-term contract.
The 20-year has joined his brother Ben and scrum-half star Faf de Klerk in signing deals which will all run to 2023, while captain Jono Ross penned an extension to 2022.
The news follows a promising year for Curry that has seen him selected as England’s starting openside flanker for the tour of South Africa last June, continuing a fledging international career that started in June 2017 on the tour of Argentina.
Described by Sale director of rugby Steve Diamond as someone who is ‘already a senior member’ of the team, Curry made his debut for the Premiership club against the Scarlets in October 2016.
“I’m delighted to put pen to paper again at such an exciting time for the club, with recent announcements of re-signings and reported signings in the future,” Curry said.
Sale’s director of rugby Steve Diamond added: “I’m delighted that Tom has pledged his future with the club. He’s come though the Academy and, along with his brother, has been a revelation.
“He’s already a senior member of the playing group and is the best example of the modern-day professional rugby player: dedicated, clean living, abrasive and he has a great knowledge of the game for one so young.”
