11-man Scunthorpe survive epic test

LEAGUE leaders Scunthorpe came through a real test of their title-winning credentials after beating Bournville, despite being reduced to 11 men in the latter stages of the game.
Bournville kicked an early penalty only for visitors Scunthorpe to hit back with two tries in as many minutes from Will Robinson and Jacob Hardy.
Olly Wood was then shown a straight red card for a spear tackle after 20 minutes but Scunthorpe defied their numerical inferiority and scored a further two tries through Hardy and Grant Elliott to lead 24- 3 at the break.
