Five-star Newport move up thanks to Llanelli win

NEWPORT moved up to fifth in the Principality Premiership after earning maximum points with a five-star victory over Llanelli at Rodney Parade.
It was the visitors who drew first blood with a third-minute try scored by Kalum Evans – after centre Ryan Davies’ initial burst and pass to the full-back – converted by wing Tom Prydie.
Home full-back Hadyn Simons replied for Newport moments later, converted by fly-half Matt O’Brien, before a Prydie penalty edged Llanelli back in front following a deliberate knock on.
