A PENALTY try from the last play of the game, and with the scoreboard clock showing 92 minutes, snatched victory from the jaws of defeat for reigning champions Merthyr to send them into the quarterfinals of the WRU National Cup with a dramatic victory over Ebbw Vale.
Last year Ebbw Vale were beaten 10-6 at the semi-final stages of the same competition by the Ironmen. This time they thought they had done enough to claim the victory at The Wern.
