Blaydon responded through Jack Davidson and Matt Jenkinson, both converted by Nathan Horsfall.
In another tight game Billinghamedged it 23-18 away at Sandal through tries from Luke Wilson, Mat Kirby and Dan Dixon with Peter Evans slotting one conversion and two penalties. Thomas Baxter and Nick Carolan crossed for the home side.
