perfect start to the season remain intact after their win over at Scotstoun, but victory in the opener is the only grace left following yet more bad news for the club that Alex Lozowski has been cited.
The Saracens centre has been charged with two counts of foul play during the 13-3 encounter for incidents involving entering a ruck dangerously and a dangerous tackle on Glasgow full-back Ruaridh Jackson.
With the prospect of a possible ban coming Lozowski’s way, the fallout from the game continues to stack up against Saracens with a litany of injuries to contend with.
Mako Vunipola limped off with a calf strain and was later seen using crutches, while Billy Vunipola is likely to be out for over two months after breaking his arm for a third time.
Issues to deal with among the forwards doesn’t stop there, with hooker Jamie George and lock Maro Itoje both breaking their noses and flanker Nick Isiekwe suffering an ankle sprain.
If found guilty of both charges by the disciplinary panel at his hearing on Tuesday evening, Lozowski could face between 4-12 weeks out suspended.
Should the panel decide both incidents are severe, guidelines for top end bans stretch to 10 weeks, which could see him banned for 20 weeks.
Another citing of note is against Toulouse flanker Jerome Kaino who is alleged to have struck Bath centre Jamie Roberts during their match at the Rec.
The former All Black was shown a yellow card by referee Andrew Brace for the incident which occurred shortly behalf half-time in the match that finished 22-20 to the Top 14 side.
