Cornish Pirates hooker Sam Matavesi is in line to add to his three caps for Fiji after being named in the country’s squad to tour the northern hemisphere this autumn.
Fiji take on open their tour against Scotland on November 10, followed up by a match against Uruguay and a trip to Paris to take on Jacques Brunel’s France.
And Matavesi has been rewarded for his try-scoring form in the Championship that has seen Pirates emerge as outside promotion candidates.
The Camborne-born forward has crossed the try-line four times in six matches for the third-place Pirates.
Matavesi’s brother Josh has not been included in the 30-man squad named by head coach John McKee despite being the more experienced of the siblings with 40 caps.
The Newcastle Falcons centre misses out on selection but his club teammate Nemani Nagusa is included along with Niki Goneva.
Fiji 7s star Eroni Sau brings creative flair to the side, while 25-year-old fly-half Alivereti Veitokani has impressed in Australia‘s National Rugby Championship.
