REIGNING champions Pontypool ended 2018 in style with a 52-0 victory over Newbridge, running in eight tries to keep their unbeaten run intact to move 16 points clear.
Things didn’t start well as Jamie Jeune was sent to the sin-bin in the opening minutes. However, that didn’t hamper Pooler as Lewis Prothero opened the scoring with a fine try converted by Kieran Meek.
Martin Luckwell and Ollie Drake added further tries, with Meek kicking a conversion before they were shown a second yellow, this time to Ben Sparks.
