leaders have signed back row forward Zac Xiourouppa to a dual registration deal.
The 20-year-old has not long been back from spending the off season in where he was sent to fast track him back to form after missing the entirety of 2017-18 out with a foot problem.
The arrangement saw Xiourouppa sent to Wellington-based club Orental Rongotai, the set-up which brought through the likes of Ma’a Nonu and the Savea brothers, Julian and Ardie.
Xiourouppa becomes available for selection for this Sunday’s home match against and will remain with the Championship side for the rest of the season.
Pirates’ co-coach Alan Paver said of the new addition to the pack: “Zac has suffered a few injuries however he has now got his body right back to where it needs to be and to continue his development feel the Pirates is the best place for him.
“Being a hungry and talented young man, he is a player we are really pleased to welcome to our pack.”
Warriors director of Alan Solomons said: “Zac has unfortunately missed a lot of rugby through a series of injuries. This move will allow him to get much-needed game time at a good level of rugby.”
