CARMARTHEN Quins came from behind to beat Cardiff at The Park in tough conditions.

The rain poured down for the entire game and the hosts trailed 10-9 at the break after a competitive first half but an Aled Thomas penalty and a converted Nick Reynolds try sealed the win.

Cardiff opened the scoring after Steffan Jones fired over a penalty.

Thomas restored parity ten minutes later with a penalty of his own before Cardiff centre Will Rees- Hole collected a forward kick to claim the game's first try. Jones added the extras.

Ed Siggery was shown a yellow card as the hosts struggled to assert their authority but they showed character with 14 men to kick two penalties and close the gap to just one point at the break.

Thomas' fourth penalty of the game gave Quins the lead for the first time in the match.

Cardiff thought they had snatched it back when Morgan Allen came off the bench to touch down but referee Dewi Phillips blew his whistle for an offence in the build-up that that left Quins flanker Gethin Davies needing lengthy treatment before being replaced by Ellis Lloyd.

The hosts took advantage of that decision and sealed the win with a Reynolds try that was converted by Thomas.

Cardiff had the last word as Jones salvaged a losing bonus point with a late penalty.
