FLY-HALF Max Malins took his chance to impress as Saracens eventually pulled clear of a fired-up Bedford.
With Owen Farrell and Alex Lozowski to contend with for the No.10 jersey, Malins is going to have to be patient for game time this season, although the 21-year-old showed why there has been such excitement about him.
Sarries were pushed all the way in the first half, leading only 14-10 at the break, but Tonga international Sione Vailanu ran in three of seven second-half tries for the visitors, for whom the returning David Strettle scored twice.
