James score allows Merthyr to make history

MERTHYR overcame Ebbw Vale in a muddy affair at Cross Keys to reach their first-ever final.
The Ironmen lost out to eventual winners RGC 1404 in last year’s semi-final but they are on track for a historic league and cup double in 2018.
Ebbw Vale missed an early opportunity to get the first valuable points on the board after Dai Langdon sent a kickable penalty wide.
However Merthyr’s Matthew Jarvis had no issues when presented with a similar opportunity, his kick from 40 metres out going straight through.
