Stade Francais, the one-time giants of French rugby, launched a public campaign to summon support for their battle to avoid joining relegation’s second raters.
They appealed to their fans through social media and posters with the slogan Paris Mobilised. And even the city mayor, a major political figure, responded with a tweet: “We love and support you.”
Stade will need even more backing now after losing yet another match, at home to Toulouse, albeit claiming a last-minute bonus point in a 37-33 defeat.
