QUINS sneaked a hardfought victory thanks to three second-half penalties from fly-half Jac Wilson. It was the best possible response to their bitterly disappointing WRU National Cup defeat at Pontypool last week. It was also a third victory over Aberavon this season.
Following a cagey opening quarter, Quins took the lead through Aron Hemmings, who caught a superb high kick by Wilson and simply fell over the line. Aberavon responded immediately with Stuart Nicholas spotting a gap in the defence to score a well taken try. Stef Williams converted.
