MERTHYR powered to a convincing victory over Cross Keys at the Wern, crossing seven times to end 2017 on a high.
Merthyr were first on the scoreboard, with No.8 Phil Rees dotting down after the hosts had mauled Keys over the line from close range.
Soon afterwards, Josh Prosser slotted a penalty for the visitors to make it 7- 3 but Merthyr were superb in attack and quickly flexed their muscle Rees was on hand to cross for his second try in the right-hand corner just after the ten-minute mark as Merthyr started to dominate proceedings...
