Nick Phipps fined for urinating on bar at Sydney club

and Waratahs -half Nick Phipps has been fined after admitting to urinating on a bar while dressed as a cow on his stag do.
The day after the ‘Tahs 29-0 home defeat to the , Phipps was kicked out of the Woolahra Hotel for the lewd act and has been fined £2,200 (AU$4,000) by his club following an investigation.
A club statement read: “Nick Phipps has admitted his guilt and the investigation found the reported events to be true and accurate,” Waratahs chief executive Andrew Hore said in a statement on Tuesday.
“Phipps’ role as state club captain of the NSW Waratahs has also been suspended and his reinstatement to this role will be monitored by the organisation.”
Capped 61 times by the Wallabies, the halfback’s actions add to the Australian Conference leader’s recent woes following remarks by Israel Folau that gay people would go to ‘hell’ unless they repented for their sins.
After his fine and suspension as captain, Phipps apologised ahead of embarking on the ‘Tahs tour of where they will play , Crusaders, Highlanders and .
On reflection, Phipps said: “It’s always been in my character to stand up and accept the responsibility, I was a bloody idiot.”
