AS PRO14 champions, the Scarlets have started where they finished last season with those exhilarating Dublin defeats of Leinster and Munster in successive weeks. Friday night’s belter against Connacht means three matches at Parc y Scarlets this season has generated a grand total of 23 tries.
How strange, therefore, that over the first month of the season attendances have been going down: 9,108 for the romp against Southern Kings, 8,088 for Edinburgh, 7,693 for Connacht – distinctly modest by the standards of ‘Heart and Soul Rugby Country’.
