EDINBURGH posted a victory in their final preseason friendly before the PRO14 season begins, defeating Newcastle in Melrose on Friday night.
Welshman Jason Harries’ first try for the club since joining from London Scottish proved to be the match winner late on after Duncan Weir and Jason Tovey had slotted three penalies between them.
The Falcons scored tries through Simon Hammersley and Santiago Socino as they prepare to face Worcester Warriors in the Aviva Premiership opener.
