England wing Denny Solomona will attend a hearing with the RFU disciplinary panel on 5 April after an incident was raised in Sale‘s 58-25 demolition of Worcester Warriors last Saturday.
It has been alleged Solomona used words of a homophobic nature following a ruck in the 55th minute of the Aviva Premiership clash at the AJ Bell Stadium.
Worcester fly-half Jamie Shillcock approached referee Andrew Jackson before saying ‘it was a homophobic slur, sir. Twice’.
The code-convert has been charged by citing commissioner ‘conduct prejudicial to the interests of the union or the game’, with both team’s head coaches saying they were unaware any incident had taken place.
Solomona, 24, has been on the fringe of England’s Rugby World Cup plans having made his debut in last summer’s tour to Argentina, while recently being included England’s Six Nations squads for their matches against Italy, Wales and France.
