FULL-BACK James Stokes claimed a first half hattrick to set up an eight-try win over a Sale side that narrowly missed out on promotion to National One last season.
The visitors enjoyed a good opening ten minutes and started the second half in similar vein, but apart from that they were never seen as an attacking threat with Cov always in control in an efficient display.
Stokes opened the scoring with an unconverted try from a quickly-taken penalty after ten minutes, and he claimed his second five minutes later when put into space by Tony Fenner who added the conversion.
