CENTRE James Lewis was at the double as former Principality Premiership champions Ebbw Vale opened their pre-season campaign with victory at National Championship outfit Tata Steel.
In what was a typical warm-up game split over three halves involving numerous players, Lewis opened the scoring for the Steelmen after a turnover on halfway which was converted by fly-half Callum Hall.
No.8 Spencer Gibson then extended Ebbw’s lead with a second try which this time went unconverted.
