THE key to a successful Lions tour is to pick a squad of in-form and confident players who are used to success and have momentum behind them. That’s why it will be only right and proper for head coach Warren Gatland to select a large number of Welshmen when he confirms his tour party for South Africa on Thursday.
I’ve read gripes in the past that Warren favoured Welshmen over players from other countries on previous tours because he is biased towards Wales having coached them for so long. As someone who played under Warren for several years, I can tell you that is absolute garbage.
