The day

Having endured more than their share of hard times in following a club which once described itself in all immodesty as ‘The Greatest’, Cardiff supporters have found their stoicism tested of late as never before.
Until Edinburgh appeared at the Arms Park yesterday, they had gone eight weeks without a home match, a fact which doesn’t say much for the United Rugby Championship’s fixture list.
Since losing to Leinster’s second string on March 2, Cardiff played three matches in three different countries which would have meant their fans catching flights to Glasgow, Limerick and Belfast.
