ACCORDING to the official blurb, Wales’ match against the Barbarians next month is designed as a homecoming for those in action on the green fields of France.
What the promotional hype doesn’t say is that at least 13 of their World Cup squad, 10 of whom were on quarter-final duty against Argentina yesterday, will be nowhere to be seen at the Principality Stadium on November 4.
All bar the injured Taulupe Faletau will be otherwise engaged with their clubs on the not unreasonable basis that (a) they pay their wages and (b) having been without them ...
