Like his native Limerick, there has never been anything flash or fancy about Keith Earls which goes some way to understanding why he might have thought last week’s acrobatics against England a bit OTT.
If marking his 100th Test match almost 15 years after his first wasn’t sufficient reason for the swan dive, the man himself had a good historic justification for the flight that sealed a fourth straight Irish win over England. In a sense, he had to take off to hurdle over David Campese, Bryan Habana and Shane Williams.
