Paul Rees sees the championship go to form with Ireland and France leading the way

The Six Nations was for the second successive year decided by the outcome of the clash between Ireland and France. Home advantage proved crucial as last year’s blue Grand Slam turned green and the two sides consolidated their positions at the top of the world rankings.
They will be the teams to beat in this year’s World Cup and their records since the 2019 tournament are remarkably similar. Ireland have won 28 Tests and lost seven while France have the same number of defeats but one fewer victory.
