The decision of Championship clubs to contact their local MPs to ask for Government to mediate in its gridlocked negotiations with the RFU/Premiership, is putting the Twickenham administration under mounting pressure.
The impasse over promotion-relegation, and the Championship’s exclusion from the proposed eight-year funding format in the PGP (Professional Game Partnership) – which will be voted on by the RFU Council in early June – is now coming to a head.
