Battling U20s still have a lot to learn

England U20s entertaining 32-32 draw with Ireland in Bath on Friday night was pure curate’s egg.
The good part was that they had the scrummaging and carrying power up front to force their way back into the game in the second half – so, hats off to props Asher Opoku-Fordjour, Billy Sela, Jimmy Halliwell, and Scott Kirk, for putting a very good Ireland side on the back foot.
A salute too for captain Finn Carnduff and bench openside Kane James for making the most of that platform against an Irish outfit that played the more fluid, cohesive rugby, outscoring England’s five tries to four.
