Danny Cipriani’s recent biography has shined a light on the player cliques within the England team that held sway during the seven years Eddie Jones was coach, and in Stuart Lancaster’s tenure before him.
It is a great pity that Cipriani’s criticism has only just surfaced, because the ‘closed shop’ mentality it fostered has damaged England as an international force.
