JEFF Blackett gave a valedictory interview this week which beggared belief. The retiring RFU Council grandee, who was President for two years (2020-22), a senior Council member of 25 years standing, and chief disciplinary officer, appeared to be living in a parallel universe.
As Blackett exits stage left he has produced a six page blueprint listing urgent reforms needed to save the RFU from the mess that it is in – yet, incredibly, on his watch at the RFU he managed to do nothing to implement any of them!
