ANOTHER of the RFU’s anonymous review panels reported this week that England were short of the fitness levels required to compete in this season’s Six Nations. This column beat them to that conclusion by a month –with no review panel required because the evidence was staring us in the face.
The governing body also acknowledged that England has declined so significantly as a scrum force that it is appointing two new ‘pathway’ scrum coaches – so far unnamed – in a bid to remedy the shortfall in world-class front row forwards.
