It was always odds-on that Lawrence Dallaglio’s recent calls for Premiership clubs to stand together collectively and support each other in tough times would fall on deaf ears.
It would have represented a radical change of direction, given the record of predatory behaviour by Premiership clubs when any of their number falters financially, for them to rally around either Dallaglio’s Wasps or the stricken Worcester Warriors.
