A POTENTIAL breakthrough in the diagnosis of concussion through a simple saliva test is a note of good news at the start of the season.
The need for clarity in the protocols surrounding this key player welfare issue was highlighted (again) last season when Northampton and Wales wing George North was allowed to play on despite sustaining an apparent concussion against Leicester.
