Sydney Millar CBE (Ballymena, Ireland, Barbarians, British and Irish Lions): Died December 10, 2023 aged 89.
Ulsterman from Ballymena who became a towering figure in the game. As a prop he won 37 Ireland caps and played nine Tests for the British and Irish Lions over three Tours – 1959, 1962 and 1968. As a coach he masterminded the Lions triumph in South Africa in 1974, the same year he led Ireland to the Five Nations title.
