Rugby Matters: Chiefs duo deserve bans… and sympathy

THE question of tackle heights and what constitutes a legal tackle continues to vex the game, myself included. For example I thought it was a fair enough that both Dave Ewers, who originally copped a yellow, and Sam Skinner, who received a red from the off, were issued with four-week bans after the regular season Sale game last week.
Indeed I wrote in my live match report that Ewers wasn’t out of the woods and would be cited and probably banned. Unlike Rob Baxter, I thought the system worked pretty well on this occasion.
