EVERY so often, in fact quite frequently in recent years, rugby indulges in a little navel gazing and asks the question why doesn’t this often brilliant and often satisfying of sports fail to truly grow as a global entity and brand.
There are many reasons but I’ve always thought topping that list are the hideously complicated often unfathomable laws and the inability of referees, players, and often both in unison to either follow them or even interpret them properly.
