Sedbergh deny Cranleigh’s triple glory bid

WINNING three major titles on the trot is incredibly difficult – witness in the – and Cranleigh fell just short at the Nations this week when they lost to a superb Sedbergh side in the Open .

Cranleigh, winners in the previous two years, had been hoping to emulate GS who achieved the feat 55 years ago but although they advanced unbeaten through the competiton they finally hit the wall against a Sedbergh side who were well led by -half Tom Walsh who won the player of the tournament award.

Sedbergh won 26-12 and also had the satisfaction of disappearing back up to Cumbria with a second piece of silverware, having won the Colts competition on Wednesday. Perhaps they will be the next school chasing the treble
