WILL Rigg’s ambition was to become a professional cricketer but it is the oval ball rather than The Oval that is his driver now.
Rigg was in Warwickshire’s academy and spent a year in Australia honing his skills as a batsman, but he reached the point where he realised he was not going to make it.
He took himself off to Cardiff Metropolitan University, a seedbed for Premiership players, with no rugby ambitions but soon found himself playing for the first team and was approached by Coventry.
