1. Jason Ryan – I know Jason from Canterbury back in New Zealand. Technically perfect and very strong – he is an absolute mutt of a man.
2. Neil Briggs – One of my team-mates at London Welsh, Neil is a very accurate thrower with the skill set of a fly- half. He also has zero respect for his own body and is a courageous tackler.
3. Campbell Johnstone – Could lock a scrum down all day. Provided quality ball for the backs and is also the only man I know to knock himself out on a trophy while celebrating a Super 15 title.
4. James Broadhurst – A team-mate at the Hurricanes, he’s the best ball carrying lock I’ve played with.He has every skill in the book and will be the next All Black lock.
5. Jonathan Mills – My skipper at Welsh and he would skipper this team as well. He is a hard man who does his job and more, every time. The type of player you love having on your side and someone you would walk over glass for.
6. Sean Cuttance – Another teammate from Canterbury, Sean is a grafter who every team hates to play against. Always putting his head in dark places. He is as strong as an ox and brilliant on the dance floor!
7. Richie McCaw – A superstar and all-time professional. He is an amazing leader and an absolute pest at the breakdown. Just lives and breathes rugby.
8. Hayden Hopgood – He won’t be that well-known over here but you can’t stop Hayden five metres from the line. He has huge power and strength but is a very delicate ball player too and wins a massive amount of turnovers.
9. Fourie Du Preez – Has an amazing understanding of the game with a tremendous kicking game. He’s an all-round nine who excelled in the biggest games, like the World Cup in 2007, and for the Bulls in the Super 14.
10. Dan Carter – He is easily the best ten in the world. Dan always seems to have so much time and has all the skills of the highest level. A great bloke who’s also not scared of a beer.
11. Sinoti Sinoti – One of my teammates in Italy last season, he has the best feet I have ever seen. A huge step off left and right, he creates something out of nothing and has huge X-factor.
12. Jamyn Keats – It was between my bro and Ma’a Nonu, but the bro’s more of a team-man so I have to put him in the 12 jersey. He’s an extremely quick and well-balanced runner with a huge left boot, has great distribution skills and a deadly fend.
13. Conrad Smith – The best word I can find to describe him is safe. He reads the game very well and his defence is world class. A fantastic leader and a very intelligent man.
14. Scott Hamilton – Another very safe player with huge experience. He will take the high ball all day and is always in the right place at the right time. And he’s a great character when his missus lets him out!
15. Alex Davies – Another of my Welsh team-mates, Alex is a quality goal quicker, strong distributer and great communicator as well as being an electric runner.
